The hadith of the Ark or Hadith al-Safinah has been narrated by different sources among which Hazrat Ali abu Talib(as) in which the Prophet Muhammad (saws) makes a comparison between the Ark of Nuh (as) and Ahlul Bayt as being the path leading to salvation and refers to the prophet saying:
"Behold! The similitude of my Ahlul Bayt, is like that of the Ark of Nuh (as): The one who embarks it, will have saved himself, and the one who turns away from it, is doomed."
The scholars connect this hadith to the surah Al-Ahzab (33:33) which says :
And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.
There are both Sunni as Shia sources that refer to this hadith and in this metaphor, the sea is symbolism for the darkness, deviation, and danger of getting lost and not arriving where intended. Next to this, the human being can only survive on the sea when properly prepared.
This panel displays the calligraphic expression on the wood of the hadith of the Ark and it is a must-have for any follower of the line of Ahlul Bayt.
The topsail displays the name of Allah (swt) and the sails under display the names of Prophet Muhammad (saws), Imam Ali (as), Hazrat Fatima (as), Imam Hassan (as)and Imam Hussein (as) as members of the household of the Prophet (saws) or Ahlul Bayt.
It is important to note that the Ark of Nuh (as) was not the salvation because the nearness to the prophet but to Allah (swt) as his own son was not permitted to find the salvation in the ark that he had built. The second point of attention here is that even though the Ark was build following direct instruction from Allah (swt) it was not embarked without being said "Bismillah".
NB: No translation of the Holy Quran can reflect the full debts of its original revelation in Arab and always has to be considered as one of sometimes multiple meanings or ways of translating that is possible when translated in any language.

"..I am not a Shia but in my opinion the members of Ahlul Bayt offer the most inspiring examples of howv a moslim is supposted to be, after the Holy Prophet saws. The examples they give are usefull to every human being, even not moslims.."

"..the teaching of Ahlul Bayt go so deep. Such a shame that most of the Moslim world ignores them or just says they follow these examples. On the other hand you have to be made out of special wood in order to integrate such profound wisdoms in daily life.. at least this panel is made of the right wood.."
